Terms and conditions
Your booking is subject to these terms and conditions so please read them carefully. Nothing in this document affects your usual statutory rights.
Making a booking
When you make a booking through this site you can choose to either pay a 25% deposit or the full amount. The deposit is used to secure your booking and is non refundable. We strongly recommend you take out insurance that covers cancellation.
If you pay a deposit the balance will be due 6 weeks (42 days) before the starting date of your booking. If you book less than 6 weeks (42 days) before the start of your holiday, we must receive full payment at the time of booking.
If you need to cancel your holiday please let us know as soon as possible.
If we do not receive payment for your holiday in the required timescale we will treat this as a cancellation. If you do not arrive at the property within 24 hours of your booking start date and have not informed us of a delay we will treat this as a cancellation.
Where you cancel the booking a cancellation charge will be due in respect of our lost costs as follows:
- More than six weeks before the start date of your holiday: full deposit
- Less than six weeks before the start date of your holiday: total cost
We strongly recommend you have adequate insurance in place to cover yourself for cancellation. We cannot be held liable for any cancellation costs incurred by you in the event of cancelling your holiday with us.
If we have to cancel or amend your booking
We do not expect to have to make any changes to your booking once it is agreed between you and us, but sometimes problems occur and we might have to amend or cancel bookings for example if the house was rendered uninhabitable and needing repair. If this does happen, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practical and we will refund you any fees you have paid us. However, we will not be liable to refund you for any fees you may have paid to any third party in connection with your holiday (including, without limitation, fees for travel, entertainment, activities or insurance).
We do not currently charge a returnable security deposit. If there are any minor breakages or damage please let us know so we can address it for the benefit of future guests. If there is significant damage or missing or broken items please let us know and we reserve the right to pursue recovery of our costs.
You can arrive any time after 4pm on the first day of your holiday and must vacate the house by 10.30 am on your final morning.
Our price includes include all charges and are inclusive of bed linen, towels and heating and electricity. Wi-fi is provided for reasonable use although consistent service cannot be guaranteed in this locality.
Please try and leave the house in the condition that you found it and please be mindful of the neighbours especially at night.
Pets and smoking are not allowed at Ocean View Cottage.
To process your booking we will need to collect and process personal information. From time to time we would like to send you by email, some information about Ocean View Cottage and Louisburgh including special offers and things to do in the area and general information that we think will interest you. If you would rather that we did not do this, please tell us at the time of booking or you can email at anytime to unsubscribe from this list. We will never pass your details onto third parties.
We will make every effort to help you if you have an existing booking and are prevented from travelling due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will allow you to amend the dates of your holiday (subject to availability) and will be flexible on the dates due for balance payments. We may refund deposits if you are prevented from traveling due to either your country’s or Irish travel restrictions.
