Durkans is on the main street in Louisburgh and has a great selection of basic supermarket items and local goods.  It has an off licence and a sandwich and hot food counter. Lovely friendly staff as well.

Durkans Butchers sell fresh local meat and vegetables. They have a fantastic selection.

Topaz station
The Topaz or Corrib petrol station (with a Spar Express) on the outskirts of Louisburgh is another great place to stock up.  As well as an off-licence they also sell fire wood and turf, some nice home made ready meals and have a fast food counter which does great value cheeseburgers which are a favourite of our teenagers!

Restauraunts and cafes in Louisburgh
TIA

No trip to Louisburgh is complete without a visit to TIA. This cafe has a mixture of tasty Irish and Portuguese dishes all made on the premises with locally sourced products. They also serve evening food at Tia at the River. The food is fantastic quality and highly recommended.

Good Grazing (take away)
Good Grazing is a take away restaurant in Louisburgh. There is a good selection of pizzas, burgers, fish and chips. You can eat in as well and even have a game of pool while waiting for your order.

 

Louisburgh 74
Louisburgh 74 is a lovely cafe with very good coffee and cakes. The breakfasts here are recommended. It’s a lovely relaxing place.
Gaffneys

Gaffneys

Gaffneys  Seafood Restauraunt is only open in the Summer season. It’s a small cosy restauraunt serving fantastic seafood dishes and tasty pizza.

A little bit further away
Ocean Lodge Killadoon

The Ocean Lodge is about ten minutes drive south of Louisburgh in Killadoon. It is a pub / restauraunt in a beautiful location with fantastic views.

Glen Keen Farm
Glen Keen Farm and craft shop is a short drive outside Louisburgh on the way to Leenane. It’s a cafe and shop in a working sheep farm and a lovely place to stop for lunch or coffee.  It is open year round for coach tours but only June to August for drop in visitors.

Cronin’s shebeen is an award winning pub and restaurant on the way into Westport
The Tavern
The Tavern is about a fifteen minute drive from Louisburgh on the road to Westport. It is well known locally as one of the best restaurants. It’s another place doing fantastic seafood as well as a varied menu.

The Sage in Westport is one of our favourite places to eat in Westport. The food here is lovely – it is quite a small restaurant and very popular so booking is recommended

Louisburgh Pubs

There are four pubs on Bridge Street in the centre of Louisburgh – all on the same side of the street. While they differ in size and character they are all highly recommended and all serve an excellent pint of Guinness!
